Blogging Inspiration can be difficult to find at times

Writing Inspiration PhotoEvery blogger gets writers block at some point. It’s natural. Depending on the topics you blog about you can also reach a plateau. My blog is about SEO, Social Media and Web Design. Being diverse means that if I get stuck for an idea I can go into another subject. But what do you do when you run out of inspiration?

Read, Learn, Explore, Do. Read other bloggers work, read books, read websites like Mashable. There’s nothing wrong with finding inspiration from current stories or trend. Expand on it, give your own opinion and quote your source.

Learning is important. No matter what industry you are in staying on top of whats new and staying informed can help give you inspiration. When I learn something new I blog about it.

Explore. Not just on the internet but in life. Go outside of your boundaries, do something you would never do. It will give you a story and something to write about. I like to attend networking events and then blog about them. A friend of mine found SEO inspiration from chopping fire wood one day. You never know when an idea may come to you. Sometimes I find inspiration from a photo.

Do. Doing comes in part with exploring, reading, and learning. As Nike says, Just do it. Sit down and start writing. Write about the first thing that you think of. Sometimes when you just write you get into a groove and flow.

What inspires you?

What inspires your creativity?

As an artist and creator I’ve often found myself lacking inspiration. Where do you take your inspiration from?

The answer to this question will vary depending on what you write about or do for a living.

My passion lies in photography but I’m a web designer for a living. When I’m stuck for inspiration I use photography. I also look around at what other people are doing, and sometimes I combine ideas and make a unique spin on them. Here are some other ways you can regain your inspiration.

Inspiration is all around you
Open your eyes. The ordinary can be inspiring.

Go out of your comfort zone
Try new things. If your a landscape photographer start taking portraits.

Push your technical knowledge
Learn a new technique and find a way to make it creative and your own. Once you’ve learned it share your knowledge with others.

Teach people what you know
A great way to find inspiration is to teach. You would be surprised at what you can learn from others. Everybody sees differently, Bob may look at a mailbox differently then you. Brainstorm ideas and go out and shoot with people. Same thing applies if your a writer. Collaborate with others to find new ideas. By teaching others you will also learn from them.

Take the long route
We live in a fast paced world and people are always looking for short cuts. I find though this can be creatively stifling. Take the long route, explore, this goes hand in hand with opening your eyes.

Let others help you
Ask your friends and family for ideas. Two brains are better then one.

These are just a few of the things I use to regain my inspiration. What have you found helpful?
